Based on National Instruments hardware with LabVIEW software Developed by Viewpoint Systems a National Instruments Alliance Partner. Viewpoint Systems has 25 years experience developing LabVIEW software for major corporations worldwide. Their experience has allowed GDJ to produce software that is very user friendly and easy to operate. This greatly reduces the amount of training required for the students and provides a data screen that is easy to both control the wind tunnel operation and view the data from the airfoils.
The System is base on the National Instruments cRIO-9063 Embedded Real-Time Controller with Reconfigurable FPGA for C Series modules. This is a chassis-based system with individual plug in modules which allows for possible customer customization of the system.
The cRIO communicates with the computer via an IP address. There are no data acquisition cards to install in the computer. Thus, any type of computer can be used with this system, even a Laptop commuter. All of the software is stored in the cRIO. This makes the computer strictly a monitoring device.
